Explore Your City

I am very lucky to live in Long Beach. Situated between the beach and Los Angeles there are endless opportunities for many types of adventures. I am trying to soak up every bit of summer before it is gone so my friend Allison, my fiance Abel and I decided to try our hand at paddle boarding.  We purchased vouchers for Long Beach Adventure Tours through travel zoo for $35 per person. This included a 2 hour paddle board lesson at the dock next to the Maya Hotel in Long Beach followed by 2 complimentary margaritas per person.

The adventure was definitely enjoyable and something different. We paddled through the harbor up to the Queen Mary. I am happy to say I never fell off of my board. Our guide Nema was a nice laid back surfer type who saved the day by letting me book this at the very last minute.

Post paddling we headed over to Fuego, the restaurant at the Maya for our margs. We sat in a very nice private cabana outside with a great view of the harbor. We also received free parking for the day at the Maya.

Lake Livin’

My Sunday off was well spent catching some sun at Lake Perris. Situated in the middle of nowhere and outlet malls is this large man made lake. We spent ten bucks to get in, meeting up with our friends and their two sea doos. It was a blast! I rode passenger to my adrenaline junkie fiance, which meant I was taken on quite the ride. I hold on for dear life when on any water craft, so my tensed muscles were definitely sore the next day. I can’t wait to go back.
